SIGRID ESTRADA started her career assisting Irving Penn whose work deeply influenced her.
In her own professional life, she has been shooting environmental and studio portraits of authors, artists and architects for book publishers like Simon & Schuster, Random House, Harper Collins, Penguin Putnam, FSG and magazines like Elle, Vogue, NY Times Magazine, Time and Newsweek. Some of her well known subjects include: Scott Turow, Nadine Gordimer, Gloria Steinem, Paul Auster.
She also spent time in her native Berlin and published a pictorial essay, in book form, on contemporary artists in that city.
Her frequent trips to Europe and the Caribbean started her on an additional career as a travel photographer.
